# Build Any Feature by Describing in Text with Trooix

[Trooix: Build Any Feature](https://apps.shopify.com/trooix?utm_source=ecomx&utm_content=manual) is a Shopify app that builds storefront features for you from a plain description. You tell Trooix what you want in a chat, and it builds the feature, adds it to your store, and gives you a settings page to manage it. You don't need a developer or any code.

We tested some features with Trooix, including: Checkbox upsell, Estimated delivery date, Trust badges, Kit bundle builder, and Free gift add-on. In this guide, we will show how Trooix works and walks you through three features that pair well with eComX themes.

## How Trooix works

1. **Describe the feature.** In the Trooix chat, write what you want in your own words. For example: _Add a gift-wrap checkbox on my product pages that charges a fixed wrapping fee._
2. **Review the suggestion.** Trooix matches your request to a feature and explains how it will tailor that feature to your request.
3. **Refine it.** Send follow-up messages to adjust the feature. Click **Customize this feature** to update a feature you already have.
4. **Configure it.** When you see **Done — your feature is ready**, open the feature. Then set up its content and options on its settings page.
5. **Show it on your store.** Turn on the **Trooix Features** app embed in your theme. Some features need to be added via an app block. Every feature you build then appears on your storefront.

Each feature you build gets its own page under **Apps** > **Trooix** in your Shopify admin. On that page you can edit the feature, preview it, disable it, or click **Customize this feature** to change it with Trooix.

## Before you start

* Install [Trooix: Build Any Feature](https://apps.shopify.com/trooix?utm_source=ecomx&utm_content=manual) app from the Shopify App Store.
* **Check your credits.** Building or updating a feature uses Trooix credits. If you don't have enough, Trooix shows how many the build needs and asks you to add credits. You have 10,000 credits with Free plan, which allows you to create at least 2 features - for free.
* **Turn on the app embed once.** Features don't show to shoppers until the **Trooix Features** app embed is on:

1. From your Shopify admin, go to **Online Store** > **Themes**.
2. Next to your current theme, click **Customize**.
3. In the left sidebar, click **App embeds**.
4. Turn on **Trooix.**
5. Click **Save**.

## Features in this guide

| Feature | Best for | What it does for your store |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Gift wrap checkbox | Blum | Adds a one-tick gift wrap option on the product page, for a fixed fee. It raises order value, especially around holidays and gifting seasons. |
| Kit builder bundle | Shine | Lets shoppers build their own set from products you choose. It encourages larger, multi-item orders. |
| Estimated delivery date | All eComX themes, especially Electro | Shows shoppers when their order is likely to arrive. It answers a common question before checkout and builds buying confidence. |

**Note:** These pairings are suggestions. You can build any of these features on any eComX theme.

## Add a gift wrap checkbox feature

A gift wrap checkbox lets shoppers add gift wrapping for a fixed fee in one tick, right on the product page. You build it in Trooix by describing it in the chat, then set it up as a Checkbox Upsell offer that uses a gift wrap product.

### Build the gift wrap feature

1. From your Shopify admin, go to **Apps** > **Trooix**.
2. Click **Describe a feature**.
3. In the chat, describe what you want. For example: _Add a gift-wrap checkbox on my product pages that charges a fixed wrapping fee._
4. Trooix suggests the **Checkbox Upsell** feature. To tailor it for gift wrap, send a follow-up. For example: _Rename/configure as a 'gift wrap' fee item instead of a product add-on. Ensure it's a fixed flat fee rather than a product-priced add-on._
5. When you see **Done — your feature is ready**, click **Open Checkbox Upsell**.

**Tip:** Anytime you need to update the feature, click **Customize this feature** button and send follow-up messages in chat so Trooix updates your existing feature instead of building a new one.

### Create a gift wrap product

The checkbox adds a real product to the cart. The gift wrap fee is that product's price.

1. From your Shopify admin, go to **Products** > **Add product**.
2. Name the product, for example **Gift Wrap**.
3. Set the price to your wrapping fee, for example $8.00.
4. Add an image of the wrapping.
5. Click **Save**.

### Set up the gift wrap offer

1. From the feature dashboard, click **Create offer**.
2. Under **Show this offer on these products**, click **Choose products**, then select the product pages where the gift wrap product should appear.
3. Under **Product to offer as the add-on**, click **Choose a product**, then select your gift wrap product.
4. Set the checkbox text and options in **How it looks**.
5. Check the **Preview**. It shows how the add-on appears on your product pages.
6. Click **Publish**. To save it without going live, click **Save draft**.

## Build a kit builder bundle feature

A kit builder bundle shows a set of companion products inside the product details on a product page. Shoppers pick the items they want, and the more they add, the bigger the discount they get at checkout. The discount is a real Shopify discount that shows in the cart and at checkout, not just a "you save" message on the page.

### Build the bundle feature

1. From your Shopify admin, go to **Apps** > **Trooix**.
2. Click **Describe a feature**.
3. In the chat, describe what you want. For example: _I want to create a Bundle feature that allows shoppers to buy a set of products with a discount price. The bundle is added inside product details on product pages._
4. Trooix asks how the discount should work. Select **Apply a real discount at checkout**.
5. Trooix suggests the **Product Bundles & Save** feature and lists what it includes. Confirm to add it.
6. When you see **Done — your feature is ready**, click **Open Product Bundles & Save**.

### Refine how the bundle works

To turn the bundle into a kit builder, send follow-up messages in the same chat. Start each one with **@Product Bundles & Save** so Trooix updates the feature you already have. These are the changes used in this guide:

| What you want | Example message |
| --- | --- |
| Products side by side, with an Add button | I want the bundled products to be listed horizontally. With each product, the media above, title below. And show button "Add" instead of the selection checkbox. |
| Shoppers choose their own items | I want the default status to be that no product is added to the bundle. The shopper will add the product proactively. The discount doesn't count the main product on the product page. |
| Bundled items go into the cart as their own items | I want the bundled products to be added automatically to the cart with the main product instead of adding the main product with more quantity. |

### Set up discount tiers

Discount tiers reward shoppers for adding more items from a bundle. Each tier has a minimum item count and a percentage off. Trooix creates a real Shopify discount code for each tier and applies it automatically at checkout.

1. From your Shopify admin, go to **Apps** > **Trooix** > **Product Bundles & Save**.
2. On the **Bundles** tab, in the **Discount tiers** card, check **Apply a checkout discount for bundles**.
3. In the first field, enter the minimum number of items. In the second field, enter the percentage off.
4. To add more tiers, click **Add tier**. To remove one, click the trash icon.
5. Click **Save**.

| Setting | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| Apply a checkout discount for bundles | Turns the checkout discount on or off for bundles. |
| Minimum item count (first field) | The number of companion products the shopper must add to reach this tier. |
| Percentage off (second field, %) | The discount the shopper gets when they reach the tier. |

For example, with the tiers below, a shopper who adds 2 companion products gets 10% off:

### Create a bundle

Each bundle belongs to one product page. The products you add to it show as the bundle on that page.

1. From your Shopify admin, go to **Apps** > **Trooix** > **Product Bundles & Save**.
2. On the **Bundles** tab, click **New bundle**.
3. Choose the product whose page shows the bundle. It appears under **Shows on this product's page**.
4. To show the bundle on your storefront, check **Active**.
5. In the **Bundled with** card, click **Add products**, then select the companion products.
6. Click **Save bundle**.

## Bundle settings

| Setting | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| Shows on this product's page | The product (anchor product) whose page shows the bundle. |
| Active | Shows the bundle on the storefront when checked. Uncheck it to hide the bundle without deleting it. |
| Bundled with | The companion products shoppers can add. Each product card shows the image, title and price, laid out the way shoppers see them. |
| Add products | Adds more companion products to the bundle. |
| Remove | Takes a product out of the bundle. |

When a shopper adds the main product to their cart, the bundled products they picked go into the cart at the same time.

### Customize the bundle section

Go to the **Settings** tab to change how the bundle section looks and where it appears.

#### Section

| Setting | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| Bundle section heading | The title above the bundled products on the product page, for example Complete your routine or Frequently bought together. |
| Product page location | Where the bundle section appears on the product page. Enter the location's selector, for example .product__info. Leave it blank for automatic placement. |

#### Layout

The bundled products show side by side, with the image above the title. When a shopper adds the main product to their cart, the bundled products they chose are added along with it as their own cart items.

Click **Save** in each card after you make changes.

### Add the bundle to your theme

Two steps show the bundle on your storefront. First you turn on the Trooix app embed, then you add a **Trooix Feature Block** to your product page and link it to the bundle feature with its **Feature ID**.

#### Copy the Feature ID

1. From your Shopify admin, go to **Apps** > **Trooix** > **Product Bundles & Save**.
2. In the **Add Product Bundles & Save** feature dashboard > find setup instructions > **Feature ID**.
3. Click **Copy**.

#### Add the Trooix Feature Block to the product page

1. In the theme editor, open the **Default product** template from the page selector at the top.
2. In the left sidebar, under **Template**, expand **Product details**.
3. Click **Add block**.
4. Click the **Apps** tab, then select **Trooix Feature Block**.
5. In the block settings, paste the ID you copied into **Feature ID**.
6. To change where the bundle shows, drag the **Trooix Feature Block** up or down in the **Product details** list. For example, put it below **Purchasing** so it shows under the **Add to cart** button.
7. Click **Save**.
8. Back in Trooix, click **I've added it** to close the setup card.

## Create an estimated delivery time feature

An estimated delivery time tells shoppers when their order is likely to arrive, for example _Estimated delivery: from Sep 14, 2026 to Sep 19, 2026_. Trooix works out the dates from the day the shopper views the product, plus the processing and transit times you set. Shoppers get an answer to "When will it arrive?" before they check out, which helps them buy with confidence.

### Build the delivery estimate feature

1. From your Shopify admin, go to **Apps** > **Trooix**.
2. Click **Describe a feature**.
3. In the chat, describe what you want. For example: _Create delivery time estimate feature on my product page and cart drawer._
4. Trooix asks whether the estimate should be the same for every visitor or change by location. In this case, I select **Same estimate for everyone**.
5. Trooix suggests the **Estimated** **Delivery Time** feature and lists what it includes. Confirm to add it.
6. When you see **Done — your feature is ready**, click **Open Estimated Delivery Time**.

### Show real delivery dates

By default, the message shows a range of days, such as _Estimated delivery: 4–9 business days_. To show calendar dates instead, send follow-up messages in the same chat. Click **Customize this feature** so Trooix updates your existing feature.

| What you want | Example message |
| --- | --- |
| Dates instead of a number of days | Instead of showing {min_days}–{max_days}, I want to show {delivery_from} (estimated delivery from date) and {delivery_to} (estimated delivery to date). The date shows based on the shopper's browser timezone. |
| Dates that update every day | I need it to dynamically change based on the real time the shopper views the product, and on the transit and processing days set up in the admin. For example, the delivery takes 4–9 days. A shopper who views the product on Sep 10, 2026 sees "Estimated delivery: from Sep 14, 2026 to Sep 19, 2026". On Sep 11, 2026, they see "from Sep 15, 2026 to Sep 20, 2026". |

### Set up delivery times

1. From your Shopify admin, go to **Apps** > **Trooix** > **Delivery Time Estimate**.
2. In the **Settings** card, check **Show delivery estimate**.
3. Enter your processing and transit times.
4. Edit the **Delivery message** if you want different wording.
5. Save your changes.

#### Settings

| Setting | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| Show delivery estimate | Shows the delivery estimate on your storefront when checked. |
| Theme integration point (leave blank for automatic) | Where the estimate appears on the page. Enter the location's selector, for example .product__info. Leave it blank for automatic placement. |
| Delivery message | The text shoppers see. It uses placeholders that Trooix replaces with the delivery days or dates. |
| Minimum processing days | The fewest days you need to prepare an order before it ships. |
| Maximum processing days | The most days you need to prepare an order before it ships. |
| Minimum transit days | The fewest days the carrier takes to deliver. |
| Maximum transit days | The most days the carrier takes to deliver. |

Trooix adds processing and transit times together to get the full delivery window.

With these settings, a shopper who views a product on Sep 10, 2026 sees _Estimated delivery: from Sep 14, 2026 to Sep 19, 2026_.

### Add the feature to your theme

#### Copy the Feature ID

1. From your Shopify admin, go to **Apps** > **Trooix** > **Estimated Delivery Time**.
2. In the **Estimated Delivery Time** feature dashboard > find setup instructions > **Feature ID**.
3. Click **Copy**.

#### Add the Trooix Feature Block to the product page

1. In the theme editor, open the **Default product** template from the page selector at the top.
2. In the left sidebar, under **Template**, expand **Product details**.
3. Click **Add block**.
4. Click the **Apps** tab, then select **Trooix Feature Block**.
5. In the block settings, paste the ID you copied into **Feature ID**.
6. To change where the bundle shows, drag the **Trooix Feature Block** up or down in the **Product details** list. For example, put it below **Purchasing** so it shows under the **Add to cart** button.
7. Click **Save**.
8. Back in Trooix, click **I've added it** to close the setup card.
