Shine 3.4.0 & 3.4.1: Shoppable Video, Collection Showcase & Product Variations

Shine 3.4 is about letting your brand be seen, felt, and trusted. Shoppable video turns your content into a place to buy, product variations bring every shade and scent together into one beautiful listing, two new collection sections make browsing your ranges as inviting as a beauty counter, and new product page blocks tell the story behind what goes into each formula. This article covers both 3.4.0 and the 3.4.1 update that followed, with everything you need to create a storefront that feels as considered as your products.

Highlight Features

Turn Every Moment into a Purchase with Shoppable Video

Beauty and wellness are sold on feeling: the glow of a finished look, the texture of a cream, the ritual of a routine. The new Video Shoppable section brings that feeling to your storefront with video slides paired with product cards and quick shop, so a shopper who falls for the look can buy the products behind it without ever leaving the moment.

Every Shade, One Beautiful Listing with Product Variations

Shades, scents, and sizes often live as separate products in your catalog, but shoppers think of them as one choice. Product variations combine separate products into a single listing, so shoppers can explore every option of a lipstick or serum in one place. The result is a more streamlined, more elevated shopping experience that keeps the focus on finding their perfect match.

Make Every Collection Irresistible with Collection Showcase & Collection Directory

Shoppers rarely arrive knowing exactly which product they want. They arrive with a need, like softer skin or healthier hair, and your collections are how they find their way. Two new sections turn that first step into an experience worth lingering over, each suited to a different kind of store.

Collection Showcase: Large, editorial cards preview each collection with a strip of its own product thumbnails and a product count. Shoppers get the mood of the range and a first look at what is inside in a single glance, so a collection page feels like a campaign, not a menu. It is a natural fit for skincare, hair, and body care brands whose imagery does the selling.

Collection Directory: A compact, refined grid of collection cells, each with its own tagline, title, product count, and image, sits beside an optional promotion panel. It is ideal for guiding shoppers through a well-defined range, such as rings, necklaces, earrings, and bracelets, while the promotion panel keeps a campaign image or seasonal story in view.

Notable Additions & Improvements

  • Two new header mega-menu blocks: Sidebar Mega Menu places level-2 links beside level-3 image cards, so shoppers can browse by imagery, not just words. Menu Highlight lets you style individual menu items with their own colour and a nav badge, with 9 styles to choose from, ideal for drawing the eye to New Arrivals or Bestsellers.

  • Four new product detail blocks: Give every product page more depth and more reasons to believe:

  • Key Ingredients: spotlight the actives and botanicals that make your formula special, and build the authority that turns browsers into believers.
  • Countdown: create anticipation around launches, limited editions, and seasonal offers.
  • Back in Stock notification: when a cult favorite sells out, shoppers can ask to be notified instead of walking away.
  • Disclosures: display Shopify’s new structured product disclosures, such as safety warnings or other product-specific notices, on the product page and mirrored onto cart line items so the information stays with the shopper to checkout.
  • [INSERT SCREENSHOT: Product page showing the Key Ingredients block alongside Countdown and Back in Stock]
  • Product Bundle section: Curate a set of products from a collection or a manual list and present it as a complete ritual: a three-step routine, a gift edit, or a travel kit.

  • Fullwidth Logo section: Make a bold brand statement with your store name, logo image, or custom SVG displayed at full container width, with gradient and outline text styles for a signature, editorial finish.
  • Product recommendations in the cart drawer: An upsell carousel with its own heading and navigation suggests the perfect finishing touch right before checkout, like the cleanser that completes the routine.
  • Quick Order List section and Bulk order Quick buy: For shoppers stocking up on favorites across shades or sizes, the Quick Order List section adds a variant table on the product page with per-variant quantity, SKU, thumbnails, and pagination. Quick buy on product cards also gains a Bulk order mode, now chosen per section instead of through one global switch.
  • A smoother path to purchase: Buy buttons on the product page can now sit inline with the quantity selector for a cleaner layout. On mobile, the sticky purchasing bar now shows the variant name and price, with tighter padding on small phones.
  • Floating Back to top button: A new Floating style adds a fixed circular button with a scroll progress ring, a small, polished detail that makes long pages feel effortless.
  • Inactive tab message: When a visitor switches to another browser tab, your store’s tab title rotates to gently draw them back.

Bug Fixes & Under-the-hood

  • The mega menu now stays out of the way when switching variants in the quick view popup.
  • Info Tabs no longer blank out placeholder images in other sections on the same page.
  • The "In stock only" filter no longer shows sold-out products in a collection where nothing is in stock.
  • Footer newsletter content colour now applies to the description, not just the heading.
